As one of the most prestigious wedding coordinators in Los Angeles, Paige Iris Traynor-Ashcroft is known for being classy, elegant, and the orchestrator of many happily-ever-afters.

But in the words of Paige herself: “What a crock of shiitake.”

Known affectionately (or not) as P.I.T.A. to those closest to her, she’s never been one to buy into the whole monogamy thing for herself. Sure, her BFFs are getting picked off by Cupid one by one, but his arrows have nothing on her semiautomatic.

Richard “Dick” Dawson does his best to live up to his name. A long-time frenemy and manwhore extraordinaire, he thrives on pushing limits, pushing up skirts—and pushing every single one of Paige’s buttons. He’s the itch she can’t scratch, and doesn’t want to. Or does she?

What happens when blazing-hot rage turns to crazy, unexplainable lust? Surely not…love? Because that would just be a total P.I.T.A.

About Brooke Blaine

You could say Brooke Blaine was a book-a-holic from the time she knew how to read; she used to tell her mother that curling up with one at 4 a.m. before elementary school was her ‘quiet time.’ Not much has changed except for the espresso I.V. pump she now carries around and the size of her onesie pajamas.

Brooke enjoys writing sassy contemporary romance, whether in the form of comedy, suspense, or erotica. The latter has scarred her conservative Southern family for life, bless their hearts.

If you’d like to get in touch with her, she’s easy to find – just keep an ear out for the Rick Astley ringtone that’s dominated her cell phone for ten years.

~☆Review☆~ Misfit Brides series by Jamie Farrell

I’ve already reviewed Blissed by itself where I then plowed through the other four books (3 full-length & 1 novella). Seriously, I read the entire series in about a week, give or take. So I’m going to do that thing where I review all the books at once.

First, let me say this is SUCH a fun series. It’s light and funny, while at the same time full of heartfelt emotion.

I loved Lindsey and Will. She’s that beautiful balance of tough exterior and wounded vulnerable soul, while he’s a soft country boy wrapped in devilish charm.

I’ve had those what-if moments. The ones where you cringe at the memory because you screwed up so royally. You KNOW there’s no going back, but you still wonder if you’d done things differently, if your life would have taken a different path.

Lindsey and Will get the chance for a do-over, not just with each other, but with themselves as well. They both have talents that are floundering because they don’t have the muse that feeds their creativity. So they take the second chance.

Kind of. It’s not that easy.

I don’t want to give too much away.

I’m pretty sure that’s a made up word.

This novella gives readers the inside details between Mikey and Dahlia that the author teased us with in Matched. Mikey is a dawg, living up his country star bad-boy image. Dahlia is a softy who needs his connection to Will to give her ice cream parlor a boost (even in the Marriage capital of the Midwest, not a lot of ice cream eating in the winter). Circumstances happen that puts Dahlia at the right place at the right time to help Mikey out.

This is a short, sweet, funny, perfect story.

Sugared is my favorite.

There! I said it.

Kimmie makes this book. I don’t think this story would be nearly as good with any other heroine. That probably doesn’t make any sense. Anyway. Kimmie is awkward and weird – not your normal gorgeous, flowing locks heroine that easily snags the guy. What I love most about this book is that Kimmie, who figures prominently in the series, comes into her own. Not in a takes off her glasses, shakes out her hair, and is suddenly gorgeous, kind of way – in a way that matters. She finds her inner strength, stands up to her devils’ bride of a mother, and is completely unapologetic about who she is. THAT’s the kind of heroine romance readers need. It’s okay to be quirky and play nuclear bunny games and realize your friends love you for all that, not despite that.

Whew! Okay. I loved this book, in case you didn’t realize that.

Merried is another second chance love story, but with a little mystery thrown in. The cast of characters in this book is hilarious, from the marriage/wedding obsessed mother, to the glimpses of characters from previous books, to the imaginary Phoebe Moon.

If I had an imaginary friend, it would be Phoebe Moon. Also, I’m very upset there isn’t actually a middle-grade series starring Phoebe Moon.

There are so many giggle inducing moments in this books, it’s ridiculous. This for instance: Merry is being hit on in a bookstore. Max (she doesn’t know his name yet) comes to her defense. Phoebe Moon throws in some commentary and Merry says,

“Could you keep it down? You’re bothering Spike.”

Both men peered at her feet, as though looking for a dog or a pet hamster or a stroller.

“Spike?” Linebacker Guy said.

She smiled at him. “My pet dragon? He’s very uncomfortable with strangers.” She made a show of stroking the air next to her. “It’s okay, Spike. Spencer will be here soon, and we’ll talk to him about you starring in his next novel, okay?”

I’m so talking to my imaginary pet dragon next time some weirdo hits on me. Merried is full of moments like that, along with the angsty moments you expect from a really good romance.

I seriously can’t gush enough about this series. I really, really want Pepper to be next!
