I’m loving the Delta series. It’s the best of both worlds – a new series with new characters, but we still get a hefty dose of Titan as well. I was really looking forward to Victoria and Ryder’s story after meeting them in Locke and Key, but I was a little hesitant as well given the gritty seriousness of Victoria’s circumstances. (Hey! If I wanted a heavy dose of reality, I’d read true crime.) No need to worry though, Cristin Harber handles a very serious and horrifying situation with aplomb. She doesn’t gloss over it, but she also doesn’t make it the focus of the Victoria’s story. It’s an integral part of the character and relationship development, but it’s not ALL the story is about.

There are a few loose ends I’m not so happy about. Jax, for one. But that’s going to be the next Delta book, so I’m okay to wait that one out. But the thing that happens toward the end, with the one guy & his sister…what’s the deal w/that?! Where’s the resolution for that whole thing? (Trying not to give away any spoilers)

Overall, I loved Ryder and Victoria’s journey and story. I loved how Victoria was able to fight past what happened to her and how it helped motivate her going forward. How Ryder and Victoria were able to draw strength and support from each other.
