Once again, Ms. Kaye has delivered a steamy romance full of depth and heart.
Quinton is hot. Like…Whew! I-need-to-fan-myself hot! Sexy, inventive, protective, and looking for Miss Right. Cassia’s a hot mess, but an admirable hot mess. She has a reason for being skittish and out of her element because of the accident she was in. Quinton doesn’t think Cassia is ‘The One’ he’s looking for because of her phobia. Yeah…see how that goes.
I can’t get enough of this series. Really, truly.
Besides being all sorts of hot, Ms. Kaye takes the time to delve deep into the BDSM lifestyle. She goes beyond the sex to the psychology and emotion behind the desire to be dominant or submissive, giving us normal folks a titillating glimpse of the lifestyle. I don’t how much is based on ‘fact’ and how much is the superb imagination of the author, but she writes at a level that appeals to me as a reader without it feeling cheesy or over the top.
I also loved how she tied in this series to her Rough Rider series. That was an awesome surprise and gives me hope for the next book in that series!
