Review

Paige has a lot going on in her life – her parents (who are a-holes) and the … surprise… that lands her in close quarters with her nemesis, Dick Dawson. So it’s no surprise that she goes off on an ice cream fueled rant about the institution of marriage, which leads to not so great consequences.

Thankfully, she’s got her friends to lean on and help her figure things out. But sometimes what you need has been staring you in the face the whole time.

I’ve been a fan of this series since Licked. P.i.t.a is a great addition to L.A. Liaisons – funny, sexy, romantic. A strong leading hero who may seem like an a-hole but, as with most things, appearances can be deceiving. I still can’t say I’m a fan of the first-person, talking to the reader, style of writing, but I can overlook it for the strong characters and story.

You could say Brooke Blaine was a book-a-holic from the time she knew how to read; she used to tell her mother that curling up with one at 4 a.m. before elementary school was her ‘quiet time.’ Not much has changed except for the espresso I.V. pump she now carries around and the size of her onesie pajamas.
