I have to say, Max and Jessica might very well be my favorite book of the Break On Through series. I really liked Sam & Kyle, but when Max called Jess “Gingersnap”, I knew their relationship was going to be good. 

Jess may look all sweet and innocent, but that’s why you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover – you never know how well written a story can be. Jess has a backbone and she’d not afraid to let it show when she needs to.  She’s the perfect mix of sweet and sexy to balance out Max’s hot and rough. One thing though – I wish it had been a little hotter. Don’t get me wrong, it’s hot, but with the tease of Max and Jess, I expected it to be can’t-keep-their-clothes-on, do-it-in-the-middle-of-the-yard, off-the-charts hot (okay, maybe not the middle of the yard, but you get my drift).

I also wish there was another chapter between the last chapter and the epilogue. The ending just felt rather sudden. I can’t say specifically what’s missing since that would give away an important plot point, but I would have rather have gotten the events between the two chapters as they happened rather than as a reminisce from Jess. Just my personal preference.

Despite that, I loved this book! I devoured it in about three hours (and I had to put my kids to bed during that time) – it’s so easy to read. There are so many little moments between Max & Jess that tugged at my inner romantic. And I really, really hope Harper Kincaid writes a series based around the Order.
