This is probably the hardest review I’ve done since it’s part two of a three part series. It’s like trying to review only the middle of a movie.
I dove right into Volume II after finishing Volume I. My previously stated issues aside, I really enjoyed this series. Vol II deals more with the rival gang and the conflict with the District Attorney Angelica turned down for Bash. Let’s just say that I love a good comeuppance, especially when it involves taking out a person’s livelihood rather than beating them to a pulp. Don’t get me wrong, I love a good beat down as much as the next blood thirsty girl, but there’s so much more satisfaction involved when the bad guy gets it where it hurts the most. Specifically when said revenge is meted out by an intelligence woman.
Vol II is still H-O-T, HOT! Even more so with the addition of a little surprise that I’m not going to give away. Angelica is very much her own person and Bash accepts that. He doesn’t expect her to be submissive anywhere except in the bedroom. He treats her as an equal in their relationship, even going so far as to letting her know about some MC business – which is almost unheard of in that world.
Vol II ends in a cliffhanger, just like Vol I. I will say it’s interesting where Vol III goes and I’m looking forward to find out where she takes the overall series (hopefully in one book this time.). Even more of a TBR recommendation than before.
